Renoir is a very special horse. He is an Orlov Rostopchin, a very rare Russian breed. He was trained as an Event Horse and to PSG in Russia by Valeriy Volkov and imported to the US as a 8 year old. His Russian name is Blyooz. His sire Barin was a member of the USSR's Dressage Team at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. That team was coached by Patricia's mentor, Alex Chterba, and finished in 4th place, barely missing the Bronze Medal. It was with Renoir that Patricia was awarded her USDF Silver and Gold Medals, and the 2016 USDF National Intermediate II Champion Vintage Cup, Professional division. They have qualified for USDF Region 3 Championships at FEI Level each year for the last 4 years and for USDF Nationals at Intermediare 2 in 2015. At the age of 27 Renoir is fit, sound, and continuing to perform. He is also beginning to show some of Patricia's students the joys of what riding such a special horse can be like.
